Great Green Energy Affiliate Programs: Be a Superhero and Get Paid for It!
Nov 2nd 2013, 18:19

Eco-Affiliate.com is a green affiliate programs directory. They carry all "green products" like organic products, eco-friendly clothing and "green energy" affiliate programs which they label as "off-grid affiliate programs." Some of their off-grid affiliate programs are the Spheral Solar Power Affiliate Program and the Solar Royal Affiliate Program. Both affiliate programs pay USD $25 for each sale. Payouts are made by check or through PayPal.

Eco-Affiliate - Green Affiliate Programs Directory

GreenAffiliatePrograms.Net is similar to Eco-Affiliate. They are a directory of green affiliate programs ranging from body and healthcare to vitamins to yoga programs. They have solar power products as well as green building products like Neutral Existence and Green Nest. Their commissions range from 7 to 12%.

Ways to Start a "Go Green" Movement

Now that we have our list of green energy affiliate programs, it's time to come up with a strategy on how we can start our own "Go Green!" movement.

Amazon Kindle Traffic

Users tend to look for information or to read about their interest before they buy a product. You can create a free eBook (or charge a minimal fee for each download) covering the various aspects of green energy and why there is a huge need for it. Through your literature, you need to convince users of the advantages of using solar panels, for example, and how much they (and the planet) will benefit from the practice. Doing so helps increase clicks to your site, which is your main goal in creating a Kindle eBook.

Content Strategy

Again, users will want information on green energy: what it is, how to do it, ways to save on energy costs, etc. You need to be able to supply them with helpful information and then direct them to the products that can help them get started.

There's a lot of information on green energy, so you need to come up with a schedule of when to do your research and when you will publish a new post. You can create infographics too, or slideshows on the value of renewable energy. You can also do content curation where you share other green energy resources with your readers.

Blog and Forum Commenting

There are a lot of green energy sites, as well as blogs and forums that you can participate in, not just to help out and promote your site, but to get information as well. There's a lot of information-sharing that goes on in blogs and forums. These sites can give you ideas about what to write next, as well as what the people in your target market are interested in learning and what products they're looking at.

Green Energy Affiliate Programs: Stop or Go?

I say it's a "Maybe." The keywords are a bit on the competitive side, really. There aren't many low-competition keywords you can target. That means you need to work double on your on-page SEO as well as your content, because your content will be the main thing driving traffic to your site. The articles on your site will also help with conversion, so they need to be well-written and credible.

The commissions on most of the affiliate programs in this niche are not as high as those in other niches. That is a bit of a drawback for me because this niche requires quite a lot of content.

It's also important that you have a genuine interest in this niche. You need to believe in sustainable energy and its benefits. Otherwise, you will not be able to fully immerse or commit yourself to this niche, nor will you be able to convince others of the good in green energy.

That's plenty to think about. But hey, being Earth's advocate is no mean feat.

I hope you find this week's niche helpful. Please make sure to share it with your friends and colleagues through the share buttons below. Feel free to leave your comments and suggestions below, too!

5 Tips for Affiliate Marketing Beginners

5 Tips for Affiliate Marketing Beginners

The following blog post is a guest post by Diana.

So you've heard you can make money from affiliate marketing. You've even heard you can make lots of money. Just like any other big goal, the first steps are usually the hardest. Should you blog and review products that earn you commission? Will running search engine ads get you out of your day job? What traits will you need to make a career from this industry?

There are different ways to get your feet wet with affiliate marketing and land that first paycheck. There are mistakes to avoid and traits to build. Here are five tips on how to launch a successful career in this fast-paced and highly covetable industry while avoiding costly mistakes:

1. Stick with One Project

You heard someone made their first affiliate marketing check by running dating ads while another marketer you met online is making a killing from weight loss offers. Do you then proceed to invest time and money into building both a dating and diet site? This isn't the smartest way to approach your first Internet venture.

Choose one vertical and stick with it. Putting your eggs in several baskets might sound safe but with limited time and resources it is best to focus your energy and efforts on one type of offer. Remember that each site or ad you run will require time and work. Spreading out your limited resources will cause you to produce lower-quality results.

2. Expect to Perform a Lot of Experiments

Overnight success stories get a lot of hype. What the media doesn't report are the hundreds and even thousands of hours successful people put in their ventures before turning in a substantial profit. The most successful blogs, landing pages, and email lists were not exactly touched by the hands of Midas in one simple step.

Don't immediately give up on the offer you chose to run if you don't see profits rolling in right away. Try tweaking your landing page, blog, ad copy and the like. Expect to do a lot of revisions and tests in this industry.

3. Build a Relationship with Your Affiliate Manager

Consider your affiliate manager your ally. Affiliate managers deal with a lot of other affiliates on a day-to-day basis, so they have information you need such as which offers perform the best. However, this also means that an affiliate manager's time is limited.

It's worth your while to begin forming a lasting business relationship with your affiliate manager right from the get-go. Ask questions and be courteous. Schedule an initial phone call as soon as you are introduced to your affiliate manager. Prepare a list of concerns and questions, showing respect for his or her time.

Common courtesy, building rapport and being likable will make you stand out from all the other affiliates. Show you're interested in working in concert and you will reap the benefits. If you make money, your manager makes money. It's a win-win relationship you will need to invest in.

4. Be Creative and Tap into Your Experience

You see a lot of ads that use a particular type of verbiage so you write your landing page copy the same way. You also see marketers using Facebook to promote a particular product so you do the same thing.

While it's not a bad idea for a newbie to use popular marketing methods—most such methods are popular because they work—that doesn't mean you should let yourself fall into the habit of just copying other people's work. Customers get immune to seeing the same type of marketing tactics—whether it's a Google ad, an email's subject line or a banner ad.

Stand out from all the other noise online by coming up with unique methods. Just because you're new at affiliate marketing doesn't mean you can't invent methods veteran marketers haven't thought of. Tapping into your experience from real life and your own unique knowledge will help you create ad campaigns no one else can. Fresh content and marketing methods will give you an edge over experienced affiliates.

5. Keep on Learning but Make Sure You Produce Results

A lot of people who want to get into affiliate marketing make the mistake of reading every affiliate marketing guide on the planet but then fail to actually get their hands dirty. While it's a very smart idea to keep learning and finding out what's going on in this fast-paced industry, the money will only start to roll in when you actually do the work.

The best time to begin is now. Start that blog or ad campaign today, not next week or when you feel you're ready. You'll probably never feel perfectly ready unless you dive into the water and start swimming towards your goal. Consuming information will only prove useful once you get to work and apply what you've learned.

It's easy to get your head spinning when starting out in this industry. The Internet is massive and there are countless ways to land that first paycheck. Keep these sound principles in mind when you begin your affiliate marketing venture so you don't lose your focus. It helps to remember there is no single formula to Internet success. Sure, it pays to work smarter instead of harder—but when you're new to this industry or any other industry, hard work is still a very important factor.

Social Media Marketing On The Go: 10 Mobile Apps Reviewed

Social Media Marketing On The Go: 10 Mobile Apps Reviewed

Social media marketing can get hectic. Whether you're promoting your blog, spruiking your products or simply being social and building relationships online - being good at social media often means being on the ball 24/7. Thanks to smart-extension-of-my-arm- phones though, you no longer have to stay deskbound while you maintain your always-on social presence.

Here are 10 of my favourite social media apps. They make life easier by making sure I continue working even while I'm supposed to be at home enjoying my weekend.

1. Tweetbot

Tweetbot is an iPhone app (no Android version...yet) that makes Twitter management easier. If you're a power tweeter, it lets you manage multiple users, mute certain topics (or users) in your timeline and it syncs with the iCloud so you can bookmark away on your iPhone, iPad or even your Mac. A newly updated version of Tweetbot has recently become available and it's aimed at making your friendly neighbourhood Twitter bot even friendlier and useful.

2. Hootsuite

Hootsuite Social Media Marketing

If your social media efforts involve more than just Twitter, and you're juggling multiple clients or multiple channels of communication, you really need Hootsuite. Hootsuite lets you multitask like a pro and while the desktop version is a great experience, the mobile app will make sure you are up to date with every Twitter mention, every new Facebook comment and you can even set up feeds to keep track of key phrases you're interested in or follow along with Instagram posts. It's super handy if you're collaborating with a team so you can keep track of who is working on what and detailed analytics also give you a great indication of your performance. You can also use it to schedule posts and cross post to multiple platforms at the same time.

Sprout Social is another great option but I have only recently started using it so until I learn more about it, I remain partial to Hootsuite.

3. Buffer

If you're using Buffer yet… you really NEED to get on the Buffer wagon. You can share content to multiple platforms and Buffer will choose the best time of day for you so your fans aren't overwhelmed with a barrage of content only at certain times of day. Plus, Buffer is now integrated with a number of sites and even has a Chrome plugin so you can keep scheduling content for sharing and be rest assured your social media audience will receive a steady flow of content from you.

4. Flipboard

Catching up is fun with Flipboard. Keep up with social media, blogs, videos and photos - all laid out like your very own personalised glossy magazine. You can customise it to deliver the news and updates you want and of course, it's well integrated so when you want to share you have plenty of options, including Buffer!

5. Downcast

If you're a podcast addict like me, you'll agree that even though this isn't technically social media, it deserves a place on this list. I follow some social marketing podcasts and the Downcast app lets me keep up and tune in when I please. You don't even have to worry about iTunes and can simply subscribe via downcast.

6. Feedly

Ever since the death of Google Reader, I've learnt to really love Feedly. I subscribe to hundreds of blogs and Feedly is a great way to keep up with everything even while on the go. I personally love the interface and think it makes the articles really easy to read, even on a phone and if you want to share, there are plenty of options including sharing to Buffer - which is the best!

7. Google Analytics

Love data? Then you need the Analytics app. Keep up with your data and make decisions on the go with this app - no reason to leave your numbers behind ever again.

8. Mention

Listening is an important aspect of good social media marketing and Mention is the perfect tool to keep an eye on what's being said about you online. You can monitor brand mentions or track keywords and keep up with the conversation and respond via the app or have the details emailed to you. Move over Google Alerts.

Mention for multiple platforms

9. Dropbox

So yes, not a social media app per se, but it helps me keep up with all the additional documentation that is part of the package when managing a social media presence. The Dropbox mobile app is great and lets you easily view your content schedules, client edits, social media strategies and more even while you're half asleep in bed.

10. Instagram

I really couldn't do a post on mobile apps for social media without Instagram. Sure it has a web version now but Instagram is designed to be a mobile social media app and boy does it excel with that. Such a simple concept but such great execution and if you are a regular 'grammer for your brand, for your website or even just for yourself you know that the Instagram app is a great way to keep the world up to date with that perfect latte you had for breakfast or share with them your perfect beach view. But jokes aside, brands are doing great things with Instagram, by posting a real, human side to themselves with their photos and for this I really believe Instagram is a must-have app on your phone.

Instagram

So that's my favorite 10 at the moment and I reckon they make me work much harder thanks to being able to take my work everywhere! Seriously though, even if you have all these apps you should probably take a break sometimes. But after the break, do come back and tell us - what are your favourite social media marketing apps? Do they make life easier or do they just add to the pressure of working 24/7?

Is There Still Hope for Cure Anxiety Affiliate Programs?

Is There Still Hope for Cure Anxiety Affiliate Programs?

The cure anxiety niche has been around as long as the other evergreen niches (like weight loss and dating/relationship advice) have been. It's one of the more popular niches too. Today we will re-visit this niche and look at it from the perspective of a new affiliate marketer. Is it still relevant? How will we promote a site that features cure anxiety products? Is this niche still worth going into?

Anxiety Disorders: The Lowdown

I first read about anxiety disorders in Paulo Coelho's Veronika Decides to Die. One of the characters in the book suffered so much from anxiety and panic disorder that she chose to lock herself in a mental institution. While the part of locking oneself in a mental hospital seems extreme, her story is not far from reality. In fact, it is the reality for the 270 million or so people across the world who suffer from the various anxiety disorders.

Anxiety disorders are more common in females, and while these conditions are mostly found in adults, children can suffer from them too. This infographic is from Global Medical Education and it answers not just "What are anxiety disorders?" but proceeds to share the statistics and various treatments for these mental illnesses.

The large number of online products that promise to cure anxiety shows the high demand within this niche. This may be one of the reasons why this niche remains in the list of top evergreen niches. It's no surprise then to go into Traffic Travis and find that some of the good keywords in the cure anxiety niche have high competition.

Cure Anxiety - Traffic Travis

There are good information keywords and how-tos that are low competition, but the best ones with buyer intent are mostly in the medium- to high-competition range.

Cure Anxiety Traffic Travis Results

Most likely I'll be targeting keywords like "anxiety disorder symptoms" (3,600 global search, low competition), "how to treat anxiety" (2,400 global search, medium competition) and "how to cure anxiety" (1,900 global search, medium competition). This is just by looking at the keywords in Traffic Travis right now. I can still get more keywords once I have decided on what products to promote as I can scour the product sales pages for crisis keywords.

I went to Ubersuggest and typed in "cure anxiety," one of the keywords I had in mind while looking for information on this niche. I found several good keywords to look into like "anxiety cure book review." Some keywords are also specific enough for me to go into a sub-niche within this niche like "cure separation anxiety baby" and "cure anxiety in children."

The Cure Anxiety Affiliate Programs

Now that we've looked at the keywords, let's take a look at the cure anxiety affiliate programs. The first place I went to was ClickBank and they have a lot of products on how to cure anxiety like The Linden Method, Panic Miracle and The How To Beat Anxiety Program 2.0.

The Linden Method - ClickBank

The best of the lot are The Linden Method and Panic Away. Not only do they have higher gravity than the other products, their sales pages are also the most appealing. They offer free eBooks and other materials that you can use to review their programs or provide to users. They offer 30 to 60% commission. Panic Away has an up-sell to a subscription product that gives you a further commission on each re-bill.

Panic Away - ClickBank

I found a few cure anxiety affiliate programs on E-junkie like Dr. Dufford's Self Help Tools. They offer a 25% commission for promoting their self-help MP3s and CDs.

Dr. Duffords Self Help Tools - E-junkie

AnxietySlayer.com is another affiliate program on E-junkie. They offer eBooks and audio that help ease stress and fight anxiety disorders. They give out a 50% commission for each sale.

Anxiety Slayer E-junkie

David Bonham-Carter is a life coach and he offers life coaching books, including a stress and anxiety toolkit. You can get a 50% commission from Click2Sell for promoting his books.

David Bonham Carter - Click2Sell

Amazon and eBay offer a wide array of eBooks and audio that can help cure anxiety. If you are part of their affiliate networks, then you can tap into these resources and promote them on your site as well.

Promoting Cure Anxiety Sites: Ways to Keep Your Site Up

Once you've got your keyword list and your products and have the site up, the next great step is link building. This is crucial, and this is where most of us marketers get stumped. I find that thinking of link-building methods on the side, as you are putting up the site, helps you create a link-building strategy that you can use once the site is completely set up.

So how do we build links to a site that promotes products that cure anxiety?

Amazon Kindle Traffic

The Kindle Store is currently the world's biggest eBook store. There's plenty of traffic you can get from the Kindle Store and all it takes is creating one eBook about how to cure anxiety. You can make the eBook free (who doesn't like a freebie?), or paid (a little money on the side won't hurt), but make sure that within that eBook is a link to your site, or links to relevant articles on your site.

The great thing about about the traffic you'll get from the Kindle Store is that it's targeted. The people who need information on how to cure anxiety are the people who are most likely to read an eBook about curing anxiety, so you're getting people who are already interested in the niche onto your site.

Forum Commenting

I mentioned in a previous Niche of the Week post that people who share a common issue or concern tend to form support groups to spread information and help each other. There are plenty of anxiety forums that you can join and help out in. Again, keep in mind that your main goal in these forums is to help, not sell.

Members may criticize you for promoting products that promise to help cure anxiety. Be tactful and polite at all times, making sure to provide useful information and observe the forum's rules.

Social Media Marketing

I tend to include social media marketing in my link-building strategy for most niches. This is because social media sites are big these days. These are sites that get plenty of traffic daily. Search engines recognize the relevance of social media sites and are more likely to rank your page high if that page gets shared enough on social media sites. So, this particular method not only gets you backlinks, it gets you brownie points in search engines for relevance AND gets your site traffic. Definitely a link-building must-have.

The Cure Anxiety Niche: Will it keep you up at night?

Based on keyword research and the abundance of cure anxiety affiliate programs as well as the numerous anxiety forums and support groups, the cure anxiety niche is a very busy one. It's quite competitive, and it's really no wonder as there is a huge demand for products that can, at the very least, reduce anxiety. You can earn much from this niche if you set up the site right and promote it well.

The only sore thumb sticking out in this otherwise worthwhile niche is that you may not be able to get review copies of the product, and, if you're free from anxiety disorders, you will not be able to test the product and see if it actually works. This is a problem because, if you do forum/blog commenting, you will certainly come across individuals who claim such and such product is a scam, or doesn't work. It might be the product you're promoting, and if so, how would you put the product in a positive light then?

Apart from that, the cure anxiety niche remains as one of the most popular evergreen niches. There are plenty of reasons why—the biggest of all being that you get to earn while providing help and valuable information to those affected by these disorders.

I hope you find this niche of the week interesting and useful. If you do, then please share this with your friends and colleagues using the share buttons under this post. Feel free to leave your comments below!

How to Build Quality Links in 1 Hour a Day
Oct 16th 2013, 19:53

How to Build Quality Links in 1 Hour a Day

Link building can be an imposing task, but it is crucial for your ongoing success as an affiliate marketer. Unless you are willing to rely entirely on paid traffic sources you will need to get your website ranking in the search engines, and the most effective way to do this is with link building. Unfortunately, the words "link building" conjure up thoughts of slaving in front of a computer for hours on end in the minds of many affiliates.

In this blog post you are going to learn how to build links quickly—in an hour per day or less! If you have always wanted to ramp up your SEO efforts but simply have not had the spare time to do so, then pay close attention to discover exactly how to maximize the return on your invested time.

Step 1: Find Your Link Sources

When you are on a shoestring "time budget" for link building, you cannot risk wasting any time hunting for link sources. If you have only one hour a day to actually build links, then you don't want to waste a second! Therefore, you need to organize all your link sources in advance. I use the AffiloTools Link Finder to make uncovering link sources an absolute breeze. This tool scours the Internet to find link opportunities based on your keywords, which means that you have no need to manually find links.

Using the AffiloTools Link Finder is as simple as entering a relevant keyword in the search box and selecting the link types you want to find:

link finder basic search

As far as link sources go, guest posting, commenting and article directories are the easiest and will give you the biggest possible return on your time investment. You can also experiment with other link types, such as resource and directory pages. Once you have decided on your link types, AffiloTools will proceed to work its magic and return a big list of potential links. You can order the results based on a number of different factors. I recommend ordering the results based on page authority so that you have a large list of link sources ordered from most to least valuable.

You can see my list here, ordered by page authority. Click to see an enlarged image:

affilotools pa link list

Step 2: Develop a Plan

You have now found your list of link sources, all thanks to the incredible power of AffiloTools. Now you need to develop a plan for your link building so that you maximize the return on the time you invest. You are already one step ahead here because your link list has been ordered by page authority (this means that you will be targeting the most powerful links first). However, blasting down your link source list in a methodical fashion isn't ideal because Google prefers websites with a diverse link profile. You don't want to spend all your time building blog comment links, for example.

To make your life easier I have developed a five-day link building plan for you, which encompasses a few different types of links for a balanced profile. Work through this plan, and then repeat it once you have finished day five. This gives you a realistic goal to aim for and will help you build links quickly. All you need to do is ensure that your link list remains ordered by page authority, and then instruct AffiloTools to display only the relevant type of links:

Day 1 - Commenting (blog & forum)
Day 2 - Write & submit guest post
Day 3 - Commenting (blog & forum)
Day 4 - Write & submit article to article directory
Day 5 - Directory submissions

In case you're still confused, on day one you will spend your hour targeting blog and forum comment links you have found using AffiloTools. On day two, you will write and submit a guest post, and so on. Just follow the template for easy results; it is almost impossible to get this wrong!

Step 3: Increase Your Link Building Efficiency

If you only have an hour a day in which to build links, then it is crucial you increase your efficiency so that you can build more links in the same period of time. Fundamentally, you want to increase your "linking rate." If you can get an average of one extra link per day, then you have an additional ~30 links each month, and with no more time invested.

Here's how you can increase your link building efficiency:

  1. Set up an Excel spreadsheet that follows your plan at the start of each week with the link locations you grabbed from AffiloTools. Smash your way through this list and save a few minutes each day (it all adds up in the long run).
  2. Learn how to touch type so that you can get more words written in less time. Touch typists can generally type as they think of what they want to write, whereas you might currently think of each sentence or paragraph first, and then subsequently write it down. Touch typing also reduces the rate of typing errors, meaning you can spend less time proofing your link content and more time actually doing link building.
  3. Write your blog and forum comment links using bullet points, rather than full paragraphs.
  4. Make "inline" replies to other comments as you generally do not need to write so much for these. Furthermore, inline comments have a higher chance of being approved by moderators, which means less wasted time.
  5. Use a tool like LastPass so you can log into accounts faster, without wasting time remembering passwords for forums and article directories.
  6. Use a spinning tool to create a whole bunch of unique website descriptions for submitting to directories. Have these ready in a notepad file so you can copy and paste when doing your directory submissions.
  7. If you notice your links being rejected by any given blog, forum, or website, then strike it off your list. Every link you build that does not wind up live on the Internet is a waste of time.

Step 4: Outsource

When push comes to shove, the fastest way to build links is to pay someone else to do it for you. If you have started to see some profit from your affiliate marketing campaigns, then you should strongly consider reinvesting that money back into your business. Hiring an SEO outsourcer helps to free up your time and energy for more "productive" tasks, namely things like market research and content creation.

There are a few different ways to outsource link building, but as a general rule you should steer clear of purchasing "link packages" for a fixed sum. These are usually automated links, and hundreds of others might wind up with the exact same link profile as you. Instead, you should use a service like Elance to hire an independent worker who can manually build links for you.

Once you've hired an outsourced worker, you can provide him or her with your link list and linking plan (described above). By providing your outsourcer with a predefined list of links to build, you can ensure that you get a better return on your investment, as he or she will spend more time linking and less time searching for link opportunities! While your outsourcer is working you should tweak your website for higher conversion rates, and expand your content marketing efforts, in order to improve your profitability further. You should also read Mark Ling's blog post about Elance outsourcing for more tips on getting the best results from your workers.

Conclusion

Link building doesn't need to consume your entire life. In this blog post you have seen how just one hour a day provides you with ample time to build quality links to your website and boost your SEO effectively. For more linking and SEO strategies you can put into practice immediately, check out the free Affilorama SEO videos here. You will learn the essential methods you need to get your website(s) ranking high on Google.
