5 Best "Learn French" Affiliate Programs and How to Promote Them

"I love French wine, like I love the French language. I have sampled every language, French is my favorite. Fantastic language. Especially to curse with. Nom de dieu de putain de bordel de merde de saloperie de connard d'enculer ta mère. It's like wiping your arse with silk. I love it."

"Like wiping your @$$ with silk ..." LOL. I love the Merovingian character in The Matrix Reloaded. He looked so sophisticated while mouthing French cuss words. He made them sound so well-meaning and erudite that even though I don't like the French language, I wanted to learn French and speak it like he does.

I searched for courses online and found that there are plenty of French courses that can help me get started. Of course, when there are numerous products to answer the same need, there are most likely affiliate programs.

Raison et Comment: The Why and the How of Learning French

The French language is the official language of France and an official language of 28 other countries, such as Canada, Belgium and Switzerland. This language has about 110 million or so native speakers and about 190 million second-language speakers so I'm sure to have plenty of people to practice conversing with as I learn it.

But why learn French, or any foreign language for that matter? Is there a need for us to learn a new language? This Kaplan infographic helps answer such questions.

Now that we've answered the "Why," let's get to "How Many Want to Learn French?" I checked the "learn French" keyword in Traffic Travis and, given the numbers above, was not surprised that the keyword has a high global count and high competition.

Learn French - Traffic Travis

There are some low- to medium-competition variations, but their global monthly search values are much lower compared to the high-competition ones.

Learn French - Medium Keyword Competition

I went to Ubersuggest to check which keyword variations I could use on my site. When you have high-competition keywords such as this niche does, it's important to look for keyword variations. Maybe we can also find a sub-niche, or a specific market to target, that would make it easier for us to promote our site.

Learn French Ubersuggest F Learn French Ubersuggest G

Looking at the above keywords, I can target phrases like "how to learn French online" or "best way to learn French." There aren't many medium- or low-competition keywords to target, really, but the above global monthly searches also show that there is a strong demand for products that teach French.

The "Learn French" Affiliate Programs

There are plenty of courses, both online and offline, that teach French, so I was surprised to find that there are only two good ones in ClickBank: Rocket French and Audible French.

Rocket French ClickBank

The Rocket French course is one of the several language courses offered by Rocket Languages. Their affiliate program is available through ClickBank so once you've signed up with ClickBank, it's just a matter of getting your affiliate link for a specific language course.

The commission they pay you is quite good, and you're not limited to any particular language, although it's best to promote only one specific language.

Audible French ClickBank

Audible French is another product I found in ClickBank. Their gravity is not as high as that of Rocket French, but they offer a pretty good 75% commission for each sale.

Innovative Language Affiliate Program

InnovativeLanguage.com

I stumbled upon FrenchPod101 in one of my searches for a good "learn French" program. Like Rocket French, FrenchPod101 is part of the bigger Innovative Language Learning site. You can sign up on their affiliate page, choose a specific language, and get a 25% commission for each sale.

French Today Affiliate Program

FrenchToday.com

FrenchToday.com offers audio lessons and books on how to learn French. Their affiliate program is through the iDevAffiliate network. They pay 20–30% commission for each sale.

Learn French Online Interactive Audiotexts

Another interesting "learn French" affiliate program I came across is Interactive-Audiotexts.com. They pay you 50% commission for distributing their "Easy-to-Learn French Phrases." Their affiliate program is through SWREG Affiliate.

There are plenty more affiliate programs within this niche, like Amazon, where you can purchase various books and audio books on learning French. So far, though, the highest-paying affiliate programs are Rocket French and Audible French.

Spreading the Love for French

With high-competition keywords such as the ones in this niche, it's important to have a sound marketing and link-building strategy. You need to visualize the site and see how you will promote it and who you will be promoting it too.

YouTube and Other Video Sites

There are plenty of videos online showing how to learn French. This doesn't mean that you need to overlook this particular method. In fact, as the saying goes, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Create a video review of one of the products you're promoting, or record a small presentation on the 5 surefire ways to memorize French words and increase one's vocabulary. Upload it on YouTube, Vimeo and similar sites, making sure that each video has either a link to your site, or your affiliate link.

Document Sharing

Most of the low- to medium-competition keywords in the "learn French" niche are information keywords like "how do I learn French?" or "how long to learn French." You can create articles on these keywords and share them on document-sharing sites like Scribd. You need to make sure at least one of your affiliate links, or a link back to your site, is on the document. Not only can you get traffic to your site, you're able build links through this strategy too.

Social Media Marketing

You've probably noticed by now that social media marketing is always included in my strategy. This is because social media sites have huge followings, and millions of users log in to sites like Facebook and Twitter daily. You can create a Facebook page for your site, and through it share interesting facts about France and the French language. You can have a "French Word of the Day," or you can share special promos on the French courses you're promoting.

"Learn French" Affiliate Programs: Bonjour ou Au Revoir?

High demand usually means high competition, and this is the case for the "learn French" niche. The commission you can earn off the "learn French" affiliate programs will more than make up for the effort. The key here is to plan your site and your link building even before you are done with the research. Will your site be like a personal blog where you share your love for the French language and your journey to become a fluent speaker? Or will it be an information site where users can get good information on learning the French language? After that, write down the link-building methods you will use. Your plan doesn't have to be specific, but it helps to have at least an idea of how you will go about everything so that you can get right to promoting the site once it's up.

I hope you like this week's niche! If you do, please share it on your favorite social media site using the buttons below. Don't be shy, either—let me know what you think. Leave your comments below! :)

Pro Lessons & Predictions – Affiliate Summit Marketing Conference 2013

Pro Lessons & Predictions – Affiliate Summit Marketing Conference 2013

Ever since it was founded in 2003, the Affiliate Summit Marketing Conference became the event affiliate and online marketers all over the world anticipate attending every year. And why wouldn't they? Graced by the presence of affiliate marketing pillars and industry experts, the Affiliate Summit is a melting pot of different trends, best practices and resources in affiliate marketing and then some.

Thus, a lot of affiliates and other related specialists go out of their way to reserve a seat and hear what the industry's authorities have to say, as well as to strengthen the community they share.

A decade has already elapsed and the Affiliate Summit continues to thrive and to enhance the field's practitioners. Affilorama decided to ask the affiliate marketing hotshots spotted in this year's convention what lessons they learned from the previous term and what better stuff they see coming in the future of the industry.

Questions:

1. What were your key takeaways from Affiliate Marketing Summit 2013?

2. What are your predictions for affiliate marketing in 2014?

Eric Nagel

Eric is a PHP programmer, affiliate marketer, and SEO specialist. He is also the founder of the companies Cloud Backup Reviews and Monkey Finger. You can follow Eric on Twitter @ericnagel.

Takeaway: My biggest takeaway from the Affiliate Summit is: You get out of it, what you put into it. While I've been to over 10 shows, this fact hit me while I was moping about the blogger's room, thinking I wasn't really getting anything out of this particular summit. But once I packed things up, hit the floor and started talking to some people, things turned around!

Forecast: In 2014, I think we'll see affiliate marketing continuing to shift towards affiliates building big corporations and the "little guys" being further cut off. Much like we're seeing in the US, the middle class in affiliate marketing will also be disappearing.

Geno Prussakov

Geno is the founder and president of the award-winning affiliate management agency AM Navigator. He is also the founder and chair of Affiliate Management Days. You can follow Geno on Twitter @ePrussakov.

Takeaway: To be honest with you, this was my shortest [attendance of the] Affiliate Summit ever. I was at the conference for literally just a few hours (I came in to speak, I had a few meetings, and then I headed back) but even during that short time at the summit I was once again overwhelmed by the volume of international networking going on. It is amazing to be a part of the industry that is quickly gaining more ground worldwide!

Forecast: The industry will continue to mature and develop, embracing such up-and-coming channels and areas as (1) mobile (which in certain markets already accounts for 23% of online sales), (2) social (shopping, gaming, podcasting, reviews), (3) local (local search, geo-targeted advertising, being relevant "here and now") and (4) offline (via pay-per-call, cross-channel campaigns involving location-based marketing etc.).

Ron Cripps

Ron is the founder of the websites Affiliate X Files and Marketing Tilt. He also has been an affiliate marketer for 12 years. For the last three of those, however, Ron has been specializing in the creation and marketing of mobile-responsive WordPress sites. You can follow Ron on Twitter @affiliatexfiles.

Takeaway: Firstly it is now more apparent than ever before that not just affiliate marketing but any business online is going to need to be top quality.

What I mean by top quality is not 1000-word pages of content, but content that is helpful to the user and will be shared across multiple social networking sites. The days of simply creating a website and adding reviews then getting backlinks is now over and the next phase of online business has begun: USER ENGAGEMENT.

Forecast: In a nutshell, for me it is DIVERSIFICATION. You are going to have to shift your focus firstly to web design, making it mobile-responsive as well as user-friendly ... Next is being more active in the social media area through top-quality content followed by videos.

Video marketing has [been] and still is a very good way to diversify your business. As an example we created a YouTube channel four years ago when I first realized that videos will be the future. That time, we uploaded a video every week; we have a total of 255 videos to date. Each video has a link to either a homepage or internal page [of] one of our business sites and we have seen a 40% increase in traffic in the last six months on this YouTube channel alone. We were going from 6,000 visitors a day to averaging 10,000 visitors a day. We have never been affected by any updates ... if we have it has only been a positive effect.

My biggest prediction for 2014 is that you can no longer rely on Google to send you traffic; if you do, your affiliate business will have a very limited life span. There are many other platforms online that can send as much or even more traffic than Google can to your business without the fear of being penalized for your efforts.

Zac Johnson

Zac is an online marketer with 15 years of experience under his belt. He is the CEO and founder of Moneyreign Inc. You can follow him through his personal blog, zacjohnson.com, and on Twitter @moneyreign.

Takeaway: In the world of business and Internet marketing, it's all about connections and who you know. This isn't just from a "connections" and "deals" perspective ... it's also about building your own little personal community of friends that you can work with and bounce ideas off of. It's always great to meet up with these same friends and make new ones during the Affiliate Summit. It's one thing to attend the event and sessions, but if you leave without a whole new set of connections, you are simply missing out.

Forecast: In 2014, affiliate marketing will continue to be strong. The more successful affiliate marketers will continue to move away from promoting affiliate offers and build their own brands and products. This is fine since a whole new wave of affiliate marketers are always coming in anyway. There will also be more focus [on] and movement into the mobile space. Facebook, Twitter and Google+ will continue to be a huge benefit for all online marketers to grow and connect with each other.

Shawn Collins

Shawn is the cofounder of Affiliate Summit and co-editor in chief of Feedfront Magazine. He was also the organizer of the Affiliate Summit Marketing Conference this year. You can check out his blog, Affiliate Tip, which he updates every day so that you can have your daily dose of affiliate marketing news. You can also follow him on Twitter @affiliatetip.

Takeaway: Unfortunately, I didn't get to attend and enjoy the Affiliate Marketing Summit this year, since I was the one running it. Thus, I won't see the sessions until they are out on video about a month later.

As an affiliate marketer, how does it feel to organize something that every affiliate marketer looks forward to every year?

It is an honor to be able to put together the Affiliate Summit. My partner, Missy Ward, and I created it and made it evolve so that it would be the conference we'd like to attend—the one with unique and interactive aspects that make it a more enjoyable and productive experience.

Forecast: I think 2014 is the year when ignoring mobile is no longer an option for affiliate marketers. There is too much activity to disregard it, and if affiliate sites do not have a mobile-responsive design, they are going to see diminishing returns.

Grow-Taller Affiliate Programs: Take Your Earnings To New Heights

Grow-Taller Affiliate Programs: Take Your Earnings To New Heights

Looking for new niches can lead to interesting discoveries. I was very much surprised to find out there are grow-taller affiliate programs. I guess if there are affiliate programs for curing acne and losing weight then it's only natural to have affiliate programs for other "beauty" issues like growing taller. I'd like to be taller, sure, but I have long ago accepted that I am way past my growth spurt and will remain at 5'2". I would really rather lose weight and get flawless skin, but I guess there are people out there who want to be it all: thin, tall and flawless.

So let's all take a look at these grow-taller affiliate programs and see if there's money to be made in this niche.

What's Up with Height?

I tried to look for statistics on grow-taller products but was not able to find any. All I found were products and affiliate programs. There are a lot, so I suppose there is a strong demand for these products. Now, why would there be a high demand for this niche?

I went through Wikipedia and read a bit about human height. I found out that certain studies have shown that height can affect overall health. Taller doesn't mean better, as far as health is concerned, but when it comes to most sports and occupation, height IS might. Being tall does not necessarily mean more beautiful or more handsome, but then, no one has ever said "short, dark and handsome," right?

Lofty Keywords

I went to my favorite keyword research tool, Traffic Travis, and searched for keywords in the grow-taller niche.

Grow Taller Keywords - Traffic Travis

Looking at the global monthly search results, it appears there's plenty of interest in this particular niche. There are a lot of keyword variations that I can use, most if not all of them with low competition. I can also make my site on this niche gender-specific or age-specific by targeting keywords like "how women can grow taller" or "grow taller exercises for girls."

I checked out Ubersuggest too for more keyword variations and just as I thought, I can target specific genders and ages in this niche.

UberSuggest A UberSuggest B

Tiptop Programs

As I said earlier in my post, you would sooner find grow-taller products and affiliate programs than statistics on the products.

ClickBank has plenty of grow-taller products that you can promote—in particular, Grow Taller 4 Idiots and How to Grow Taller.

Grow Taller for Idiots

Grow Taller 4 Idiots is one of the most popular, if not the most popular, products among grow-taller affiliate programs. Judging by the gravity, it is selling well, despite claims by some in the grow-taller community that it is a scam. How to Grow Taller is another well-known product. Both offer a 50% commission.

How To Grow Taller - Clickbank

Click2Sell is another affiliate network that has grow-taller programs. You can promote Grow Taller 4 Idiots using their network and earn a 75% commission. They also offer Grow Taller Dynamics as well as HeightChallenged. You earn a 75% commission on the former and 50% on the latter.

Click2Sell - HeightChallenged

Grow Taller Dynamics

I came across another grow-taller affiliate program: Adding Height. Their affiliate network is ARI CASH. They offer a flat rate for each sale, instead of a percentage. The commissions are usually between $40 and $125, depending on the product.

Surprisingly, MarketHealth, the affiliate network for health and fitness affiliate programs, does not have grow-taller affiliate programs. I didn't find any CPA offers, nor were there any programs available through ShareASale or Commission Junction—at least, none that weren't already on ClickBank.

Ramping Up Your Sales

Keep in mind that many people looking for ways to grow taller are searching not just for solutions, but for support as well. There are plenty of support sites out there, usually in the forms of forums, blogs, and communities on social media sites. Having said that, the primary outlets for promoting grow-taller products are:

Social Media Sites

Join groups on social media sites like the Let's Grow Taller group on Facebook. Join the group and connect with the users by participating in discussions and sharing content from your site, as well helpful information you find online about how to grow taller.

Forum and Blog Commenting

There are plenty of forums that you can participate in, like the Grow Taller Forum. I was not able to find suitable blogs. Most of the blogs looked a bit sketchy, with no option to leave comments, so forums are a better option. Always keep in mind that participating in forums is not just about building links—it's about building a reputation for yourself and your site. Make sure to provide helpful information to fellow members.

Forum discussions are a great way to find new keywords to target, as well as to learn about new products or which products do not work. You can then share this information on your own site.

YouTube and Other Video-Sharing Sites

You could create video presentations or reviews of the products you're promoting and present testimonials from users of the products. Don't forget to place your affiliate link or a link to your website in the video description!

Grow-Taller Affiliate Programs: Thumbs Up or Down?

This is an interesting niche, and the commissions look good. There's definitely earning potential here and while the niche is competitive, there are good keywords you can target that have low competition.

The main challenges are promoting your site and the products. It's difficult to promote a product that you have not tried yourself or, in my case, do not wish to try. In the course of my research on this niche, I came across several sites listing some of the above products (and most grow-taller products) as scams. You will face these same critics in the forums.

The amount you can earn could make it all worth the effort though. Before going into the grow-taller niche, make sure you've got a link-building strategy set up and that you've read about all the issues on increasing one's height.

I hope you like this week's niche, and if you do, please share this article on your favorite social networks using the social share buttons below. If you want to know more about how to find your own niche, then be sure to check out AffiloBlueprint!

How to Make Your First Affiliate Marketing Sale in 7 Steps
Oct 16th 2013, 19:52

How to Make Your First Affiliate Marketing Sale in 7 Steps

The lure of affiliate marketing is undeniable; who can resist passive income?

But in order to succeed in affiliate marketing, there are a number of crucial steps you must take before you earn that first affiliate dollar. And these steps are, well … not passive.

The good news is that if you're determined to make this work—whether it's to replace or just to supplement your 9–5 job income—and are willing to put in the time and effort, you're already well on your way to affiliate marketing success.

Following are seven steps that, if followed, will set you on the right course and have you earning your first commission in no time.

1. Choose a Niche

Before you even begin building your first site, you'll need to decide which niche you're going to target. If you've already figured this one out, way to go! This is undoubtedly one of the most difficult and overwhelming steps.

Some key questions to ask yourself when determining your niche are:

  • What topics am I already passionate about?
  • What topic could I see myself easily writing 25, 50, or 100 blog posts about?
  • Is there room in this niche for another affiliate marketer?
  • Is there enough interest in / demand for products in this niche?
  • Are there affiliate programs available in this niche?

2. Build a Site

Assuming you don't already have a website built, this will be the next step. Fortunately, building a site isn't as complicated or labor-intensive as it was in the past.

The easiest way to get your affiliate site up and running is with the AffiloTheme. Completely customizable, and built specifically for affiliate marketers, you can use this WordPress theme to bypass much of the initial learning curve other affiliate marketers will experience.

3. Research Affiliate Programs

Now that you've decided on a niche, and your site is up and running, it's time to find out what's out there in terms of programs and products to promote (although you already did a bit of basic research in #1).

Choosing an affiliate program will take some work, but don't be afraid to invest a significant amount of time into it. Choosing the right program will make it well worth your while!

When choosing an affiliate program, keep these key points in mind:

  • If using ClickBank, products should have over a 50% commission (preferably 60%), and have a high gravity rating (meaning they're in demand)
  • For CPA (cost per action) programs, commissions should be over $1, and not overly restrictive in how you can promote them
  • For physical products, look for commissions over $40

Once you've figured out which program you're going to join, do the necessary steps to sign up and then carry on to step #4!

4. Produce Excellent Content

Now that your site is set up and you've joined an affiliate program, you're ready to begin perhaps the most time-consuming (but potentially rewarding) part of the affiliate business—producing content.

This is where the overused but truer-than-ever phrase "content is king" comes into play.

Your goal for your site will be to establish it as an authority site in your niche, and the main way to do this is to be consistently producing unique, high-quality content.

This could consist of:

  • Product reviews
  • Blog posts that address common problems, questions or issues relevant to your target market
  • Evergreen content
  • Free ebooks or info products
  • A free email autoresponder series

Purchasing generic content is NOT an effective way to build your site. While it may be tempting to populate your site via this method, in the long run it won't help you to position yourself as an expert in your niche (and ultimately will mean less traffic, and fewer sales).

5. Build an Audience

Building an audience for your site will, in some ways, follow naturally once you start producing excellent content.

Some ways you can speed up this process include:

  • Promoting your content via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.)
  • Guest posting on high-traffic blogs
  • Building an email list (which you can then promote your content to)
  • Using basic SEO techniques to increase search engine traffic to your site

You may also want to consider taking out inexpensive banner ads on small niche sites, or trying your hand at Google AdWords to drive some traffic to your site.

6. Promote Affiliate Offers

Finally, the part we've all been waiting for!

This, my friends, is where the rubber hits the road. Many fly-by-night affiliates will jump right to this step and bypass steps 1–5 completely. And this is what will set you apart.

Once you've shown that you can offer something of value in your niche, it's time to continue to add value by promoting products that will be useful and helpful for your audience.

You can do this through providing detailed product reviews, promoting your product via banner ads or pop-ups on your site, working with affiliate programs to offer giveaways or contests, or by offering discounts to your readers on affiliate products.

It's only a matter of time before you make that first sale—congratulations!

7. Rinse, Lather, and Repeat

Your ongoing work as an affiliate marketer will be to repeat steps 4–6 on a continual basis (with the occasional #3 thrown in from time to time).

Review of Key Points

It can feel overwhelming to do the necessary work involved in setting up your site and building your reputation. But once you've made that first sale, we guarantee that all the hard work will be worth it!

The key points we covered today were:

  1. Choose your niche
  2. Build a site
  3. Research different affiliate programs and products
  4. Produce excellent content
  5. Build an audience
  6. Promote your affiliate product(s)
  7. Do steps #4–7 on a continual basis!

As you can see, there is a tried and true strategy when it comes to affiliate marketing for beginners. Put in the work, and you'll soon be reaping the rewards!

Do you feel overwhelmed about making that first affiliate sale? What's holding you back from getting started? Let us know in the comments below!

3 "Untapped" Niches You Can Steal Today

Niche research is one of my favorite aspects of affiliate marketing. Ever since I made my first foray into the affiliate world (selling Xbox 360 repair guides) I have never ceased to enjoy hunting down profitable niches. However, I know that plenty of other affiliates struggle with keyword research, and find it a frustrating process that is fraught with difficulty and boredom. This is especially the case when trying to find lucrative niches that are relatively untapped. Every man and his dog knows about the big evergreen niches—weight loss, relationship advice, Internet marketing and so on—but what about those smaller, lower-competition niches that can still make you handsome sums of cash? In this blog post I'm not going to show you any new methods for finding niches, but instead I'm going to outline three relatively untapped niches that still have fantastic potential.

Bear in mind that the niches in this blog post are very specific and tightly targeted. You're not going to see any vague niches, such as "SEO" or "console repair." Instead I've done the hard work for you and found three exciting niches that are ripe for the picking. For each niche I've provided a small list of keywords I found using AffiloTools, which you can take to get started. Please note that these keyword lists are by no means exhaustive, and I strongly suggest you do further keyword research using your preferred methods to find a final list. I've also provided a couple of example affiliate products and advice for making the most of each niche.

Electronic Stud Finders

When affiliates think of promoting physical products, especially using the Amazon Associates program, most jump straight into the cutthroat world of consumer electronics. Sure, there might be a massive demand for MP3 players, smartphones and laptops, but you are going to face stiff resistance even trying to dip your toes into such niches. Instead, you should think outside the square and delve into the diverse range of niches available for you to promote through Amazon.

A profitable physical product niche you should consider is electronic stud finders. Power tools and building supplies always sell extremely well, especially as DIY makes a comeback due to a lagging economy. There are plenty of affiliates making a killing with items such as power drills, tool sets, sanders and other "tools of the trade." However, there is actually quite a bit of competition for some of these power- and hand-tool sub-niches (I suspect this is due to the growing popularity of Amazon training products, many of which seem to use power tools as an example niche). Electronic stud finders might not be as exotic as power drills, but they are nonetheless an important tool for builders, DIY lovers, and other tradespeople.

Because they are generally cheaper products, the profit margins won't be as high for each sale you make, but this is offset by lower competition and the potential for higher sales volume.

Keywords

Right click here, and "Save As" to download a basic list of seed keywords for the electronic stud finder niche. Remember to use your own preferred keyword research methods to expand this list.

Stud Finder Affiliate Programs

As I have already mentioned, this niche is a perfect match for the Amazon Associates affiliate program. A quick search reveals that there are over 500 different stud finder products for sale on Amazon:

stud-finders-on-amazon

That's an impressive number of products for such a tightly-targeted niche. In terms of the actual products you can promote, I would suggest you try to target higher-priced items. $1030 stud finders are a great option for boosting your Amazon commission rate, but it's always nice to sell some more expensive products to deliver those knockout commissions that all affiliates thrive on.

This Franklin Sensors stud finder is a very popular product (it's got over 500 customer reviews and a 4.5 star rating) and sells for about twice the price of its closest competition:

franklin-sensors-stud-finder

This is the type of product that converts extremely well when you send targeted, pre-sold leads from your website. I've heard of people achieving average conversion rates of 10%+ on Amazon when selling hardware/tools, and I don't see why the stud finder niche should be any different.

And if you decide you really want to chase the big commissions, then you can always target high-end wall scanners and other stud-finding products designed specifically for construction professionals. Some of these tools sell for upwards of $1,000, so you can earn fantastic commissions promoting them.

Making the most of this niche:

  • Target product/brand name keywords
  • Consider doing video reviews, especially if you know a thing or two about building
  • Build a list so you can promote more expensive power tools down the track (someone who wants a stud finder might also be interested in special offers on drills, belt sanders etc.)
  • Promote your website on trade/building forums—these are the kind of people who are most likely to purchase through your affiliate links

3D Printers for Sale

One of the hottest topics in the technology world at the moment is 3D printing. Although currently in its infancy, 3D printing has the potential to bring about some massive changes to the way goods are manufactured and distributed. The 3D printing niche is actually very broad, and includes topics as diverse as the socio-political effects of additive manufacturing through to medical applications for 3D printers. As an affiliate it is your duty to cut through all the deadwood in a niche and find the beating, profit-making heart. In the 3D printing niche it's fairly obvious where this lies: Offering 3D printers for sale. Targeting buyers as opposed to information seekers is one of the easiest ways to turn a quick profit, and clearly anybody searching for 3D printers for sale is looking to purchase one. I also must admit that I happen to know 3D printing is a lucrative niche with a very active community (I actually run a few 3D printing websites with my brother).

Keywords

Because this is a growing niche there will be new keyword groups developing all the time. You can download a small keyword list here to get you started, but I strongly advise that you invest plenty of time into finding your own keywords.

3D Printer Affiliate Programs

Because 3D printers are physical products, your first port of call should be Amazon. Right off the bat I've found a product that looks very promising:

flashforge-3d-printer

This particular 3D printer has a 4.5/5-star customer rating, and more than fifty reviews (this means it probably sells at a decent rate, as few Amazon customers actually leave reviews). Furthermore, this product retails for $1,200. Even at the minimum Amazon commission rate of 4% you would still earn $48 for every sale of this product that you made.

The Flash Forge 3D printer isn't the only option available for you to promote on Amazon. There are a number of different 3D printers you can promote as an affiliate, including the legendary MakerBot Replicator:

makerbot-replicator-amazon

Sell one of these at 4% commission and you've made a cool $80. Remember too that with Amazon you can actually increase your commission rate by selling a higher quantity of items, so with multiple sales per month you could earn over $100 on every 3D printer sold. While other affiliates are fighting like stray dogs over low-profit products in many common niches, you'll be making big bucks selling awesome products that people really want.

Some 3D printer companies also offer in-house affiliate programs. For example, 3D Printing Systems will give you a 5% commission on any sales generated through their in-house program.

Making the Most of This Niche:

  • Learn the jargon—hardcore 3D printer enthusiasts can quickly tell who is "faking" it
  • Videos are your friend in this niche, as 3D printing is very visual
  • Keep an eye on websites that discuss 3D printing news for new product names, and then target those products with your website
  • Your customers are going to need consumables, such as printing filament. Sell these in conjunction with 3D printers on Amazon to boost your conversion rate

Lucid Dreaming

For the final untapped affiliate niche in this blog post we are going to take a break from physical products available on Amazon, and head back to trusty old ClickBank. Lucid dreaming is a form of dreaming where you are actually aware that you are in a dream. With the meteoric rise of New Age beliefs and self-help products in Western countries, many people are now interested in learning how to dream lucidly.

Lucid dreaming is an excellent niche for you to consider as an affiliate because you can cross-promote with related topics, including:

  • Astral projection
  • Binaural beats
  • Sleep paralysis
  • Chakra healing
  • Meditation
  • General New Age beliefs and methods

This makes lucid dreaming the ideal match for you if you already have some experience with the self-help or New Age niches (even better if you already have your own website and list!). People interested in lucid dreaming are generally going to be interested in a lot of different New Age practices.

Keywords

The lucid dreaming niche has so many fantastic keywords ripe for the picking that I'm actually tempted to have a crack at it myselfso get started before I do! You can download the lucid dreaming seed keyword list here (just right click and "Save As"). However, once again I'm going to insist that you spend a bit of time finding your own keywords in this niche. There are just so many different long-tails available in this niche that you would be missing out on a lot of potential search traffic by limiting yourself to my keyword list. Try exploring the close relationship between lucid dreaming and astral projection keywords, as I have noticed there is a lot of interest in this particular niche segment.

Lucid Dreaming Affiliate Programs

There are a handful of dedicated lucid dreaming products on ClickBank, such as this one:

lucid-dreaming-secrets

The gravity score isn't massive, but at almost $26 per sale that's a very handsome commission. Other lucid dreaming affiliate products on ClickBank also tend to offer similar $ per sale, which is great news for creating profitable campaigns.

There's also a huge number of lucid dreaming eBooks on Amazon's Kindle marketplace:

lucid-dreaming-kindle

Obviously Kindle users are interesting in buying guides to lucid dreaming, so consider outsourcing the creation of some short reports on the subject and then use those reports to promote your website and ClickBank offers. Price your Kindle eBook around $35, and if you can drive enough sales volume then you will make back your initial outsourcing investment (and maybe even make some extra cash on top!).

Making the Most of This Niche:

  • Build an opt-in list: This is the kind of niche where you can promote multiple products to the same customers, but without a list you will be missing out. I suggest that you focus all your on-site efforts into building a big list, and then promote products through your autoresponder sequence.
  • Consider using PPC traffic to build your list and drive sales, as the click costs in this niche are relatively forgiving.
  • Make sure you provide plenty of value on your websiteI've found a lot of high-quality lucid dreaming information on forums and message boards, and you don't want people to leave your site in favor of these alternatives if they feel like they are being submitted to a thin sales pitch.

Conclusion

Niche research is one of the most critical aspects of successful affiliate marketing. However, for many affiliates it can be a difficult process. That's why I've helped you out in this blog post with a list of three great affiliate niches that also have relatively low competition (especially when compared to things like weight loss or dog training). I have also provided you with some basic keywords and potential affiliate products on Amazon/ClickBank, so you have everything you need to make a basic start in any one of these niches. The most important thing you can do now is invest quality time into expanding your keyword listsuse AffiloTools to make keyword research easier
